The main storyline finds lead protagonist Scar in a mission to dismantle the evil Strelok Faction. If you decide to help a faction, you increase the likelihood of being able to purchase distinct equipment from the faction's traders. You can fight on behalf of a particular faction, or let them fight amongst themselves without your input. New features include a faction wars system that finds four groups battling each other over key territory. Once again players must explore a wasteland populated by hideous monsters and mutants while completing quests on behalf of other characters.

Set one year before the events in 2007's Shadow of Chernobyl, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky is a standalone prequel to the acclaimed first-person shooter by Ukrainian developer GSC Game World. In the end, it is a great game that you can buy now for what… 20$? Buy it. For comparison, Stalker had 10 zones, so the game world will be slightly larger. Also the plot.ītw, about the zones: I read somewhere that there are 12 zones in the game, 6 from the original (some of them reworked), 6 new zones. In the end even if Clear Sky is feature wise just Stalker upgraded, there will be certain things that you will miss, as the unique labs with their creepy moments (x16, x18, etc), unique missions (infiltration in Agroprom, rescue in Dark Valley, escorting the scientific in Wild territories against the mercs, assaulting the red forest, etc), and some whole zones. What will you miss if you don’t play SOC? Well, you will lose a good game. Well worth watching the above 25 minutes by the way. If Clear Sky is supposed to use many of the areas of Shadow of Chernobyl, as well as adding about the same amount of new areas, and is updating most features of the game such as graphics, AI, UI etc., and as the game is stand-alone is there any real reason to get SOC? Besides the story, of course, will I be missing anything if I only get Clear Sky? If someone wouldn’t mind answering this question:
